Growing peppers in Greece

I want to grow peppers in Greece. I bought land in the area Viotia. Interested in early species of peppers. I wanted me to collect the peppers in May. Is it possible?

Sow months April- May and we collect June.

If I will use non-woven white 17g/m2 Agroplant to cover the plants in the second half of March? Could I then begin collect in the second half of May?

I have 3 hectares of land (30000m2). I'm interested in the cultivation of professional. I want the peppers exported to Polish. Price peppers in May is much higher than in June.

i think its very riskful to field sow peppers before may. the weather is very unstable and more likely you will face serious problems. the losses and minimum production will outbalance any difference in profit. if you have the Money however, you can create some seras and cultivate them almost all year round

I agree with armonia's post.
It is too risky to cultivate in open fields and expect to have a viable business from peppers.

Please also bear in mind that most participants in this forum are amateurs (including me), cultivating in small quantities and for their personal needs.

Although we are mostly amateurs, we can tell you for sure that cultivating in open for a professioanal use, is not the best practice.

If I were you, I would consider splitting my cultivation to open and based in greenhouses. 50-50% for a start.

Having a greenhouse costs to build and operate. I will agree with you, but is the best option because you have a controlled environment.

Thank you for the information. Is there maybe some forum for professional farmers? I have one more question. Is it possible to sow in November or December iceberg lettuce? I want to collect in January or February.
